Well finally the rain has stopped
Friday I dry sanded the last bit on the notch and gave it two coats of clear
Saterday trial fitted the fenders and she does look good (different but good)
And then yesterday I decided to fit the mags that I had on my bug.
It changes the whole appearance

Started re-wiring the dash as well as depleting my bank balance with ordering new stuff.

No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.

Managed to get 3 of 4 handles and backing plastics onto doors properly , it's a cow doing it with broken finger, also made up pre 67 style wiper switch using broken ivory door handle and existing switch , looking better. also note to self check power is on when charging battery as back up car for Angela's picnic was still flat. Doh!!!

Re: What did you do on your car today?
My self and a friend sorted out the wiring on the notch this weekend, What a mess
But we managed to sort out all the lights, indicators and dash lights
Now all I have to do is put the carpets back

Re: What did you do on your car today?
Stripped an inlet stud as well as my moer fitting a set of Dellortos to my SC, 30min job turned into a Saturday's frustration, having to fit a insert with the motor in place, no easy task.
For what it's worth, ignorance has no limits ......

Re: What did you do on your car today?
Not really today but been driving the Beetle a lot the last week. Quite happy with the drivability she's very fun to drive. Fuel consupmtion to Angelas picnic and back +-300km took 3/4 tank. Around town seems a bit more but hard to tell without filling up again.
