Hey Wentel.....
Unfortunately I cant claim credit for those bits.
4agedub supplied to gotech unit and got Ivan at volkspares to make up the hub and bolt the timing wheel and hub to the pulley, along with the sensor bracket.
I just bought a copy of a system that 4age and Ivan had already done a few times before.

Hi Tony, watched your vid on YouTube, ....I'm amazed at how effortlessly your bug reaches 100km/h and it sounds like it's not even working that hard while doing it, what was that time maybe 5 seconds? Have you timed it ? I'm sure you could eat a 63AMG with that from robot to robot! Wow sounds perfectly tuned with optimum fueling, that motor must be worth at least 100k , are you in CT, I just set the air fuel mix on my 1600 single port, it's going much better but I found an old Dave Rowley built 1870cc for a good price just need to find the cash. Cheers bro Ben

Hey Ben
Yip, I am in Cape Town.
DaveR is a good guy, he has helped me with a few ideas and a few parts from time to time.
The engine as you saw in the video wasnt working as it should. The ignition was busy failing at the time and I have had a few other issues with it since. That clutch lasted to the end of that day and came out when I had the chance. For the last year I have had very little time to work on the car. When time allows (hopefully July) the engine will be coming out for a rebuild and a few changes...

I would imagine that the cluch and engine mounts take a beating on a standing start and then the side shafts also have a tough job to do. Do you get Limited slip differentials for type1 gearbox's? Do you have a hard time regulating throttle Vs traction with that much power, torque and RPM? Sorry about the 20 questions, I always wanted a very quick bug. So far I've had 3, rolled the first one drifting, built a bug eye baja with the second because the body was vrot, now I just bought an original 1600l all origional everything , interior, paint and wheels. It seems like a good car to start a nice German look project, I'm going off shore Nigeria in May and when I'm back I will start. Cheers Ben

I have planned and built the car with the intension of putting big power into it. The only thing I did based on someone elses recommendation and not what I thought to be right was the first clutch and that lasted one day once I started using the power. The gearbox mounts dont feel the power. Side shafts are made for the power, as is the rest of the gearbox. Go thru my threads page by page and you will see most of your questions answered.
Traction isnt too much of a problem as I dont try to brake things and dont go banana's trying stupid shiv. But I do have plenty rubber on the road (215/45/17) to help and I definitely feel that I have had the front tyres in the air on a few occasions.
Yes you do get a LSD for a T1. Its pretty expensive.
Good luck with your projects, open threads of your own. And Enjoy Nigeria.
Jeez, we seem to have a lot of expat workers on this forum.

You are definitely of the more responsible breed, I can't help going bananas and doing stupid shit especially when I'm behind the wheel of a kafer T1, it's been a few years, wife and baby so now I will be more carefull, no more jackass shit!
Will start a thread soon and thanks for all the good advice you post, Shweet cheers Ben

Ja ja Ron.
The beauty of the power I have is that I dont have to show off. Its there when I want it. Its the guys that are lacking who do the showing off.

I wouldn't know... I'm not one for wheel spinning and making a lot of noise at the traffic light. The only time I showed off was when I tried to scare Anakin...
Once I dropped the clutch on Rumours in a fit of road rage and she axle-tramped so hard, the voltage reulator broke...

in Upington on 31 December. 'Twas hot... 'Twas after one... 'Twas when the bottle store was already closed. 'Twas not a good idea...

HR, you were still trying to cross a river bed with your lowered front suspension...

... or no... wait... you had already reached Keimoes... you were in the butchers, to be exact. Gill was on the phone to Naomi when I plukked my moer...
Upington in December, tussen hom en die hel is daar net n sifdraad...
