Not sure which is worse? DO you want one of these?

HR sent me a link to a silver one on Gumtree but it's nothing compared to this one...I'm looking for something a little more daily usable than the bus. Currently it looks like a donar 69 beetle and pine's buggy shell being mated.....then work from there to make it really special unless I can find something as beautiful as you Speedster! I don't have your skill and patience though so I don't think I do do what you've achieved... :(

I would give my left nut ( the one in the jar that is) for speedster... At least I know I'll fit in it...

I would love to see what the "water effect" paint job would look like on a bug/speedster/spider. You know the one where they spray water on and then spray the color and then bake it...Something like that... Looks like the car has water droplets on.....

Absolutely lovely...well done!
Dutch, do you now see why I suggested a speedster. Much nicer than any buggy (sorry buggy owners, except maybe the manx with the scooby in the back).

Well don RA! That car looks awesome. Keep the red paint.

Yes, the speedster is nice. I, of course, haven't a hope in hell of getting myself into one, I saw that at Timour Hall. No chance!! let alone drive it. I'm stuck with T1,2,3s.

Don't worry Ron, I'm in the same predicament. Your problem is vertical and mine's horizontal! :D

Right...engine news is...we'll , pretty good.

It seems my little power plant has already been upgraded to 1915cc. This is good, as it saves on the machining costs. Cam has already been done. so the list for Dave is:

new piston and sleeve kits
counterweighted crank...(as much as i'd love forged, minister of home affairs has other ideas so it's up to Dave to work his magic)
solid rockers
new pump and gaskets
minor work to standard heads (no cracks)
some general cleaning and polishing
for now, retain the single carb until i can afford the dual upgrade.

both dave's and my feelings are to get the long block sorted now, and worry about the bolt on goodies later.

all in all a good result.
