You are correct with the icing of the carb,, that is when the carb is to far away from the turbo, and the vacume problem is not a real problem but I would sugest a vacume release valve just after the carb, SU's got them build on the butterfly,, simple engineering will sort on intake manifold to the turbo for other carbs

Suck through is simple and make horses,, Blow through make more horses if you get it sorted,, suck through is much simpler to setup with a minumum budget,, you can spend the exstra bucks on brakes :D

hi sorry i just read through your project got a lot of tips thank you for sharing the info.oh yes on my bug i fitted a holley fuel pump with a pressure regulater from there i split my fuel lines in equal lenghts to the carbs i am running 2@ 48 downdraft dellortos and never ever had problems of high pressure you must put a fuel pressure gauge on your outlet then set your pressure on the regulater you cant go wrong as you will get even pressure to both carbs hope this will help
