Re: My Purple Monster
I am fitting a second hand 1300 engine this afternoon just to keep me going while I build the kind of engine I want. The owner sold it to me for less than 800 bucks "because the compression was bad. Upon removing the spark plugs I discovered it was running only on 3 cyclinders and the manifolds were loose. I put in a new plug and started it on the floor and it came alive. In the process I was lucky to be given, "free of charge", a complete 2.1 waterboxer motor "that turns" (I have a bad experioence with an engine that does not turn. Lesson well learnt). I am considering converting it to an aircooled motor. I have been e-mailing Jennings Beetles in the USA and they sell a blueprint for how to do the conversion. The challenge would be finding an engineering firm that is willing to manufacture the needed parts to make the conversion. Any suggestions airheads?

Seeing that you want to convert the motor to aircooled, I will gladly take the heads of your hands, as they will need to be replaced!
