yes a 2.0i golf will be more fuel effient than a diesel in a bay, a diesel will over rev and then they are not efficient, in my syncro i get about 7km/l with my 1.9td and all the 2.0i conversions we have done give between 8.5 and 10 km/l. the golf petrol is designed to run high revs and be efficient. a golf will run all day at 5500rpm.
i personally think that a easy conversion is better, easier to fix in out of the way places.

That actually makes sense, thanx. It's always a good thing to keep it as simple as possible, specially if it's going to be more than a weekend toy and like I said, fortunately I have some experience with petrol conversions..

How about these Rotating Cylinder Valve (RCV) engine... its a sort of piston and rotory in one config.
