I guess I'm a sentimental twit, but I'm feeling very sorry for the original fire truck
Looked like good original condition airport crash tender ?

Re: Big red baja
Loopy you asked about the bus in the background in one of the pics.
Well let me introduce you all to Walter Walter started as an retired Fire engine We got him and wanted to make something spectecular for the Burning Man get together But we were stumped on what to do, when a friend parked his baywindow bus next to Walter, that was when it clicked and the hamster came alive and started to turn the wheels.
It took alot of planning to make sure it would work. And once the plans was made work started.

Re: Big red baja
The construction took some time as we had to work around other contracts but progress was made,
The plan was to make it a Split window pick up so we can carry friend and family in the back as we enjoy Burning man
Some construction pics...

Re: Big red baja
The pick up idea worked great on our first outing to Burning Man, but it had it"s draw backs too, as BM is held in the desert it is very dusty when a breeze kicks up
So we decided to make some modifications to Walter for the next year
We added the roof, some lights and a kick ass sterio system
On our way to BM
Our drive thru town to show off Walter
So this is the story of Walter, which gave birth to the Big Red Bug.You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Big red baja
Update:
Here is just a pic to show that work is progressing on Big Red, it is a little slow going now with all the other work but we are getting it done.
