I've been through go-tech, mr turbo and Dictator, all installed by the same tuner on two different cars........
Dictator on my old SOHC VETC did 89whp/127nm and 19.5-21kms/litre (highway) and never less than 15km/l around town.
Best I got from go-tech on the same engine was 81whp/116nm and 16km/h (highway) and about 10-12km/l in town.
Cold start-up as well as stabilitly idle control was 100% on dictator, on go-tech and mr turbo, the car would search for idle for a good 10 seconds before settling down.

Whell it all depends on who mapped the vehicle. The new generation Gotech ecu's can do idle control.
I'm not on this forum to fight about managament systems... so let's go back to talking VW??? Right ?
Sorry Impi hijack over.

Lets say it has a reputation. There are even some ugly names for it out there in the industry, I wonder why?
I also know of a couple of guys who swear by the Gotech system.
Gotech at least has a better reputation than Mr Turbo
BTW I'm not saying Gotech is bad, it's reputation is what is in question. Maybe it has to do with being part of another VW after market part supplier, they too don't have a good rep, coincidence, maybe.

There is someone on the forum 4agedub that knows them and knows aircooled engines
Marius Koorsen who can tune them lives nearby and offered to help

IMPI that is such a nice car - just the overall look of it. It might be my imagination but I can see Porsche heritage coming through there (take the front of the car.) NICE!!
