So if you look at the first pic in this thread, you will notice a horrible exhaust sticking out. All rusted and full of holes.

So after missing the car for about a week, it was sent to Volksie World in Ottery to have the blown plug fixed and a new exhaust.

She's running, a bit rough, but she's running

So this weekend is brakes and maybe some odds and ends to get progress on the car. Perhaps an oil service just for good measure, but so far so good.

What started out as a simple winder mechanism and quarter vent window replacement, turned into door component refurbish day.

Had the new spares ready to go, needed to re-grease the new window mechanism, no sweat there. During the installation, somehow managed muck up the inner door handle linkage. Which then turned into an "oh well" moment, lets just take out the lock and give that a clean as well for good measure and a lubricate. Then noticed the window channel guide looked like someone had an apprentice panel beater moment it . Removed that and straightened, removed all the weather striping as well as that is completely knackered.

So what started out as about a 2 hour job, ended taking the whole day... I did manage to get the new windscreen mechanism in though, one step closer to getting the car on the road

Good going there, the fix is where the fun is.

The satisfaction is knowing you did it your self.

Every time you use a lever, or handle, or peddle, you remember how you took it from old to new and working.

The addiction is clear.
