Gotta say, and gonna say it. AWESOME! I am jealous!
Now where was that bolt from again ...?
And do I need to weld that together?

Re: 1.6t KCC 356 Porsche Speedster
Right then, as much as you thought i might be dead.....i'm only a 1/3 of the way there. It's been a while i know, but things are pretty hectic as usual ....i.e. my daughter doesn't really enjoy sleeping, and she figures we dont really need it either. alas.....!!
News on the Speedy. not too much. The engine is back from DR, and yes, it sounds very cool
He's done a great job to produce a very simple motor. 1915, cam, solid rocker assembly, counter-weighted crank, 009, new exhaust etc. Very simple and very solid. I dropped it in on the weekend, just need to add oil lines to filter, perhaps an external oil cooler, and we're ready to rock!! As soon as that's done, odds and ends, goes away to interior and we're pretty much done. There are still a couple of niggly items that need attention, and those invariably take the longest. New brake lines through out....that kind of stuff. Getting there people, getting there.
G, i'll drop you a line in the next couple of days to see how its' going. no new pics just yet, unless you want one of the 4 tip exhaust peeking out the back

For now single weber carb. The plan is to sort EFI with a single throttle body. Dave is keen to help out and perfect. It keeps cost down too, which is a plus!!

Re: 1.9t KCC 356 Porsche Speedster
ahh...ok, i know i dissapeared there for a while, but i'm still kicking....just not building!! Due to the fact that i just dont get the time to do anything, I've sent my first born to Henry (Berg) to finish up for me. Well, the mechanical stuff anyway...all the stuff i cant find the time to get stuck into. Motor has gone back to Dave to check a little noise on the RHS, lets hope it's just my imagination. Other than that, all is good!! As soon as it comes back from Henry, off to interior and that's just about it.

Honestly, i dont know
Perhaps we should try the postage thing again. Happy to pay the cost of it if you're willing. I will be up in Dec, but doubt i'll be able to get through to your place from the Vaal! What you think........

Re: 1.9 KCC 356 Porsche Speedster
Quick update. Motor is back from Dave again, and seemingly all ok now. Henry will pop it back in pretty soon i hope. Also doing complete brake setup from pipes to wheel cylinders. Once all of that is sorted, we'll move on to steering box, front suspension and the wiring. Hoping to go grab the rims to get sorted before henry needs to put them back......no one can find me a set of 356 rims, so alas, i'll have to make do!!

Re: 1.6t KCC 356 Porsche Speedster
When I was down in Cape Town last week I saw the speedster in the "flesh" at Henry's, and there was someone busy working on it
Looked like brakes were being done on the front.
Paintjob looks fantastic from what I could see. Just needs an interior
Will be waiting for pics of that first test drive
