OK....so late update but better than none...
I collected the Bus on Thursday at 4pm from the mechanic

. It was perfect with all the important stuff done

. On the way home I had to get the tracking re-done before the trip to George!
I will post pictures tonight on this thread and then end this thread as I think I can now say the Project is done....first trip complete with 800km's and no issues to talk of.
I met amazing people and I hope long term friends in HR, Vader, Chris, Tom, Fig (and Mrs FIG

), Pine, Barry, Bugger, Samba, Dirk, etc, etc, etc.....names have been on all the other threads!
So whose's putting the next trip thread live now as I'm in work and I can't concentrate as I want to be back in George with the crew drinking a few more beers

Hey Dutch,
I was following this thread quite closely to see if you would make it to the George show. Well, glad to see that you made it, despite all of the worries and setbacks. Looking back, I'm sure that you will agree that it was worth all the headaches...
Congratulations - The Bus is looking very, very nice. We need more guys like you, splitfan etc etc who fix up these cars to such high standards....
Now that this project is over, what will the next project be

Looking at a potential beetle but I'm thinking of taking another bad one and making it very individual...I like the dark side for some very weird reason that I can't put my figure on....that's worrying too!!!!
I agree all the pain was well worth it and for those you haven't done a vehicle and then taken on a road trip with other forum members / show people are really missing out.....I want the next trip this weekend. Even my passengers (Sean & Ugwunna) loved it and they aren't into car as we all are!
