Just a quick update on this.
The project is still going ahaead and in fact we're going to use an existing 1.7 EFI type 4 set-up to keep the costs down somewhat and just go custom on everything else.
I bought a set of 20v RSi ITB's that I sold a week later that I was considering using, but that would have set the cost over R6500-00 before any tuning had been done.
Engine is currently at Armand, waiting in Queue to be worked on, I'm assured that this is next. I'm popping over to his place at the end of the month to discuss the head options, crank and cam.
Stay tuned.

I spoke with armand and he's got a complete 1.7 EFI set-up for me that I've asked for first dibs on.
Intakes and all, I'm going to try a stock set-up first and then take it from there.

Yup, I want to get the engine built and running well with a stock set-up before I start poncing about with mods.
With the car only weighing 730kg, it's not going to need a HUGE motor to move it.

No you don`t and do not have to waste a lot of money on goodies you really dont need right now
The one other adventage of staying with the stock cooling is the standard fan also replace a lot more air than a Upright
In the states some guys modify the Type 4 fan into the Upright conversion for more cooling

hmmmmmmmmmm, interesting.
I'm looking at nice carbon fibre covers and a killer carbon Kevlar/ Fibre set-up for for the ram induction. Won't recognise the motor when you pop the lid.
We need to talk about crank and cam P. I'm going to Armand end of the month to discuss some work and then I want to look at ordering some go fast parts. But will need some advice.
