Been googling to see if there is anyone capable in SA of shortening the steering box (not welded but cut and machined, so a proper job)

nothing came up, so any tips?

Any engineering shop should be able to do that.

pretty clean, not badly priced at around 700 US from http://busware.biz/HOME.html

Thing is, I want to support local business, so anyone found a DECENT supplier locally who might be able to do a job like this?
Are you going to make or let custom made a canopy? Who r u going to use?

im most likely going to bring it in. had a look at the work of some local canvas suppliers down here and the prices they were talking were silly.

Hey Daniel try it out before you decide on shortening the shaft, allot of people end up leaving it and not shortening it at all.

Direct form the KCW site...
big dizzle wrote:we dont shorten the stearing shaft. just let it be 2 inches taller in the cab. if you are tubbing your bus then you will need every bit of legroom between the seat and wheel you can get. really the only thing it effects is the wires on the turn signal switch. you can either lenthen them to meat up with the top of the column or you can just remount the switch a little low on the column. either way no big deal

Did you order that from ssvc, I think its dsbus ??, I wanted to get that but at the time only people with left hand busses installed them, and the right hand ones are a bit more tricky

So the SC is finally at the master of metals house (Buggoff). We've discovered some things that weren't told to me, like the fact the cab floor is totally f#Ck and that the treasure chest/drop sides are cheese (if you have spare, i'd be keen on talking).

The gutter on the passenger side has a leak, hence the abortion inside (shouldn't be an issue)

Ahoy me hearteys, this pirate treasure chest isn't very seaworthy!

WTF!

Thankfully it is in the hands of the one man who turns crap into smooth metal, so all should be good.

Hi who is the metal man? I might need him.

what are you going to do with the floorboard? replace it with plane steel? or import a new one? what will he charge you?
