Computer Geek!?? Holy :bn: , that's a first. Man, I type with two fingers, and I can just about find my way around a qwerty board. But I have found the caps lock and the shift buttons, haha!!

There's a Fn button too, in blue and the top row has blue shapes on it. My guess is they're related...

Hi Mark
I think we will allow you to TALK IN CAPS like Ron said... Cyndi's voice.. DADS VOICE... :) :)

Quick lesson on attaching pics.
Use the POSTREPLY botton to post pics and the Quick Reply to jot a quckie..
Once you get to the Full Editor, below the text box youll find 2 tabs one of which is Option and the other Upload Attachment.
Guess which one you want to click.. :)
Theres a good Stormtrooper... :TIC:
Now you just have to Browse for the file, double click it, you can add a comment to it befor you click the Add the File button.
Once thats done you can click theSubmit button to post it.

Just remember that there is a file size limit and if its too big youll have to use something like Windows Paint to shrink the file before posting...

Potential problems..
Cant find any of the buttons.
Dont know where the file is located.
Cant find Paint to resize pic...

Sollution...

Hi MARK / Cyndi

Trust all is going well on the bus. Did you manage to find a engineer that is willing to work on your heads. If not I'm a Durbanite and I can recommend some places. I have used most places in Durbs and am more to tell you the good from the bad.
My bus Is a 1977 bay unfortunately my motor is the 2000l t4, so i cant help you with spears but i can lend a helping hand where about are you based?

here is a link to my build. http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... ilit=grace
I have not updated it in a long time due to the fact that i just don't have time. I'm about to start reassembling my motor for the4th or 5th time (I loose count)

Shout if you need a hand. Always keen to help fellow bus lovers

Regards
Stuart

Hi Stuart

The question about reputable VW aircooled mechanics, engine rebuilders, etc in Durban pops up very often on this forum, please share your contacts anyway :hangloose:
Mark and Cyndi are in Umbilo/Glenwood. Where did you live, I'm also from Durbs ? :hangloose:

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Hello everyone, I am back from visiting with my cousins!

We have found some Rostyle rims and we've taken them in to be sandblasted and then we will restore them.
We are still waiting for our carb to come back, we are expecting it toward the end of this week.
In the meantime we have been scraping out the engine bay so that we can paint it before we put the engine back in.
We've also sent the tin in to be stripped.
My dad is going to make a new back bracket in the engine compartment.
We are also expecting the crankshaft pulley to be here soon.

Stuart....nice of you to come and meet with us last night. Hope you enjoyed yourself.

Hi Stuart
We will definitely meet up for a surf tomorrow. My dad will phone you a bit later to make plans.
Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves.

We took the rims and tin in to be powder coated today.
We will be scraping out the engine bay again tomorrow.

Finally! Some light at the end of the tunnel.
Got the tin back from powder coating today... looks good :D
Also picked up the back brake drums after being sand blasted.
Should be getting bumpers and Rostyle rims back tomorrow.
Pulley arrived from PE and is already at coaters and carb should be here this week.
Here are some pics of the tin and drums.

Don't know if this is a stupid question, but why would you get your drums sand blasted on the inside?

The tin's look cool :hangloose:
