Nice meeting you too Dubster.

We're building a bigger engine with fuel injection! My fuel injection proposal was accepted by the committee, I submitted enough proof that beetle's were built with fuel injection.

For next year we will probably run my 2165cc engine. I've already ordered the new cam as well... Engle fk89 :P

I've started sorting out the rear fenders. Got a set of fenders from volkspares. I'm planning to mount them with dzus fasteners for quick removal.
Engine and gearbox is out as well for more mods :hangloose:

While stripping the car I've also found the oil leak... darn alternator stand broke off the base!!! Probably also part of the rear end smash damage.

The lh fender fits perfectly, the rh fender needs to go to volkspares for some alterations. It has been cut too short
So far only one dzus fastner keeps the denfer in place, but it looks like it'll hold nicely.

I've started assembling the big engine again. We need more hp!!!!

The engine is:

EMPI ally casing
78mm crank
94mm pistons and barrels
H-beam cromoly connecting rods
fk89 camshaft
Twin 48ida carbs
CB performance 044 super mag heads.
12.5:1 static compression.

The bottom end is assembled, the next step is to do deck heights and then port the cb heads. Will post pics of the heads when I start.

isnt that cam a little big for a race track? Surely its going to kill your low rpm torque.
