guys, can lay my hands on a set of 36 DOWNDRAUGHT WEBERS with manifolds and air cleaners if all goes well. Considering i'll be keeping the 1600 for now, and only moving on to something bigger in time, can these work on the 1600 and what's the max engine size i can push these carbs on? price not yet decided, but should be about 1500

1500 is a good deal buy them for that price you`ll use them one day and even on the 1600
I ran 36`s on my t4 2.1 a few years back and no problem
I just bought a 36 set also that was running on a 2,5 WBX it was fine for nice power
But when you are really building a worked motor and trying to extract every 1hp that you can above 2,2 you need to move up to 40`s 44`s or 48 depending the cc your doing acording to the Yanks
I also got a set of 40`s that I will use one day

Aah..ok, if you guys thought i was doing nothing on my car...you we're right...or partly that is. I've found some time again and getting stuck in again. Mostly still working on the body panels...starting to refit as I'm finished with them. This was the door and fender that we're once upon a time in a bad accident. I LIKE
Passenger 2.jpg
Seems the flatting, flatting and more flatting has started paying off. Did a quick water test on the panels to make sure all is cool and loving life....if you can recognize the car in the reflection...my work is done. I'm extremely happy so far.

Also been working on the once damaged bonnet and front bumper and they're coming along nicely too. Still to be sprayed though. Been polishing all the ali and that's also starting to look cool. I've organized a contact for the interior so that'll be on it's way in the very near future and then its just the spraying.
Building up steam here!!!!!

Money ..........!!! Until i find a stash, things are going to go a touch slowly. For now, just a rebuild of the 1600 thats in there. we'll take it from there. Right now though, body and interior are on my hit list. i need to get inspiration....that and i need to prove to my wife i'm working on the car and not sleeping with another woman in my garage.
