Quoting Fig:
The Fleetlines did not have the VIN stamped on the bodywork, just on the plate behind the driver's (RHD) seat. I don't know if this applies to all Brazil VWs, but it's a security issue on SA Fleetlines.

Fleetline VINs start 205 (Type 2, 0=?, 5=1975) and the fourth digit applied to the model: 1=panel, 3=Kombi, 6=pick-up. The rest of the numbers were sequential production numbers.
So the bottom number there.

Eben has already answered your question. The VIN# was not stamped on the body on Fleetlines; only on the VIN plate behind the driver's seat. As Eben said, it's the number on the bottom line.

Would someone be able to assist me with identifying the where and when of engine, gearbox and chassis for my Thing/Trekker? I'll obviously get all the respective numbers.
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.
