I have a set of 4 94mm barrels. They were used for making wine. Let me know if you want them.

Hi guys, Im not to fimilier with the terms T1,T4. All I know is that its a 2.3L watercooled boxer combi engine that Im making aircooled for my beetle. I want more power but dont want to cut the body for a radiator, I want to keep the bodywork standerd. Arrouned here in Polokwane we dont have any shops selling after market Aircooled VW spears. Im also looking for a 1700 Watercooled VW combi fly wheel if anyone can assist. Thanx

Hope you have a engineering shop that knows what to do, it's going to cost you a small fortune in machining, not as easy as it sounds. Do your homework, it will not be cheap, ie lifter bores need re-sleeving, water jackets need removing, sleeves need to be cut down, head studs offset etc. etc. BTW big bore 94mm T1 sleeves & pistons is what you need, and with the stock 76.4mm WBX crank you will only get a 2.1L motor, a 2.3L WBX has 97mm kit which at are scarse, you likely have a 2.1L with 94mm kit.
If I were you I would look at building a 1915cc T1 (beetle engine) which will cost you a lot less, and less complex.
For what it's worth, ignorance has no limits ......

Not a problem. I do all the machining myself. Got a 82mm stroked knive-edged crank, which should give me a 2.278cc with 94mm barrels and pistons. Need the 94mm aircooled barrels and 1700 water cooled combi flywheel then I could put everything together.

You get a 1900 and 2100 Watercooled Kombi.

Do you perhaps mean a 1700 aircooled Type 4 flywheel?

Hi, it could be? the centre must be the same as the 2.1, it fastens with 5 bolts onto the crank. The outer is smaller to fit into the beetle box.

Good luck finding that flywheel. As far as I know, they are fairly hard to find.

BTW, the head PCD betw T1 and watercooled is slightly different, not by much but it is.
Check out the Rocky Jennings website for pics.
