"Life is like a box of Chocolates, your bound to get some nuts" ''There is something Real about that little car, Something that dosen't even have a name.'':Jim Douglas
No Tony this car is an Gauteng car He bought this car about 18 years ago in pieces. Everything was in boxes. He worked on it in his spare time and only finished it about three years ago. He use it regularly. It drives very nice. Brakes is much better than on my 57 Oval or 58 Ghia. But that is to be expected.
"My other ride is your SeatCover! & She loves it!" Sometimes you'r the statue, sometimes your the pigeon. "Only the dead go free..." Roger Waters. "You do not understand the power of the DarkSide" Darth Vader.
This should really be in a different thread, but to me the origin of the prototypes and subsequent KdF product before and during the war are much of a muchness. Volkswagen was "born" after the war. The magic of VW lies with Ivan Hirsch and Heinz Nordhoff, the public that bought the cars and fell in love with them, like (who posted it?) Walt Disney picked the Beetle to be Herbie because it was the only car in a parking lot that people stroked and petted.
The wonderful stigma that follows the busses (no only splitties) and the unlikely motorsport prowess of the T3s, and that gorgious little air cooled flat four that just keeps impressing people... All this includes Porsche, in my opinion.
I could go on, but you guys get the drift. It is such a cool ...er... Well, everything about it is cool, interesting, endearing, cute, ingenious, special, unique!!!
