CTBUG, glad your ok. Those rocks are not friendly, last season one rolled over the road, missing all the cars, smashed through a 6ft precast wall, through the garden of some innocent old tannie, and finally stopped in a building site. All the workers/ builders were under shelter from the rain, and were unharmed. Those things have killed people on Chapmans peak drive.

It 3:23 and its flippen insane outside!! the water is coming sideways in sheets, the wind is tugging at our factory roof, the ceilings are groaning and lifting. Then its just rain for about a minute then all hell breaks loose again. Its pretty intense at the moment.

Hey...

I am fine and i'm just glad it didn't hit my windscreen! the dent is about 20cm in diameter and about 5cm deep... no paint off luckily so hoping Panelbaeter can just knock it our without to much hassle!

It's 16:03 now and the rain has subsided as as the wind, working till 21:00 so hoping the ride home won't be as bad as they predict, storm is supposed to get worse apparently!

Please be careful out there guys. This storm is out to claim lives. Car's and drivers are easy targets for it.
I'm lucky to have been sick on a day like this. Spent the whole day in bed, so I'm not driving anywhere. But even out here in the north the storm is hectic.

DON'T BE BRAVE. Rather stay indoors and wait it out.

Sea point and False bay now have property damage warnings. If you live out in these areas, be triple careful. If at all possible, don't leave your cars out doors tonight, they will be pounded by waves and junk thrown about.

I woke up at 3am this morning to take a leak and the heavens were clear... By 530am it was HECTIC and sounded like hail but was only rain... So I stayed in bed till 8am when it had calmed down a bit before I didi the 72km's from Simons Town to Durbanville....

Its a monkeys wedding outside at the moment...

I think the safest place would be in bed with a good book........

Sheesh guys, for a moment there I feel better about living in JHB. Glad everyone made it out alive by the sounds of it.

Talk about Blown away, this winter feels colder to me, we have had rain in JHB in the winter and now Cape Town has a storm with free HAIL as well. What Global warming?
