I FORGOT THE !@#!@#$% LIGHTS ON!
On the one day I don't need it. I manage to forget Lady's lights on.
Sick as a dog I go to work, bravely struggle to get some work done, then eventually give up.
Make my way home via the train, get to my stop, get into Lady, insert the key and turn.
Fully expecting that beautiful flat-four rumble to greet me and take me home.
But NOTHING.
After some pushing by ever helpful (when you have a few coins) dudes lying about. Still Nothing.
Finally give it up, lock it up and take a walk to Good Hope spares.
Having had enough with this kind of thing I take the plunge and get a booster pack. R750 later.
Lucky for me, they know me by now and immediately take pity on my state of health, and offer to drop me off at the station.
Back at the station, armed with the booster pack. I collect myself and do something very un-manly... I read the instructions.
That done I do everything as described and am happy to be greeted by dash lights.
I turn the key... and she lives once more.
NEVER AGAIN WILL I TRAVEL WITHOUT ONE OF THESE BOOSTER PACKS IN THE CAR.
They pay for themselves in a matter of minutes!

Now that you have it, you will never need it again, until the day you leave it at home

Oh crapper... what a day to have whle you're sick!!!! Glad you came right! but i agree with Tony Z, you never need those things again, until you decide to put it in the garage...
Happened to me on a commercial shoot, never before have i had to use a backup generator... yet it always costs us to book an an extra one... so i decide screw it. not booking one this time... first night of shooting, at stormy harbour... generator goes out and they all look to me do call in the backup i didn't book!!! NOT COOL!
But anyway, glad you're all good and Lady is well... take it easy man, get well soon!

Would be easy to connect a 12V buzzer that gets activated when the driver's door is opened and the lights are on...

Hmmmmmmm. Lady doesn't have park lights. I'll have to sort something else out then.

Re: I FORGOT THE !@#!@#$% LIGHTS ON!
its verry easy dirk The idea is very simple. When the ignition is on the relay holds two contacts apart. When the ignition is switched off the contacts close and connect the buzzer to the light circuit. If the lights are on then the buzzer sounds.

I am prone to leaving my ights on in the day, thats why many of these days i vowed never to put my ights on again if i can still see without them...in the buggy i put in this ORANGE light to show me the lights are on so i dont ever (hopefully) have to go through this again....
