I've been planning a trip for this year but with all the engine problems and the work interfering, it didn't materialise. It's still on the cards, though. It's just difficult for me to plan that far ahead, because I never know where I'm going to be in a months time.

Always interested in a road trip! :hangloose:

A few questions, though (and that is only because I have never been to the Richtersveld myself)

- Estimated distance, say from Cape Town?
- Time period? (Week, a few days, etc?)
- Types of road (tar/gravel/stones?)
- Weather - cold?
- Camping? (I hope!)

...this could be FUN

Ok just a short reply as I have to run.

I think one should set aside about 7 to 10 days. You'll need something with good ground clearance
so slammed busses are out.

Most sites only allow for 3 to six cars.

Have a look at this in the mean timehttp://www.richtersveld-conservancy.org ... psites.pdf

or this

in the mean time :hangloose:

Ok, Does anybody know when the school holidays are? AFAIK, all schools country-wide are closing down for for six weeks during the world cup.

I'm going! :hangloose:

Will this trip include a border crossing into Namibia?

I'd love to...there is a river crossing by ferry

Imagine a black and white picture with a Splitty or any old vw, on the ferry :hangloose:
