Hi There

I would say the best bet would be to chop the amount required from the pillars then split the roof into four sections so that the pillars align correctly then add a donor roof sections inbetween. Might have to mod the rear pillar depending on where you chop it.
Hope this can help you

Finding People to cut glass (curved) in SA is a pain
I suggest finding a pre 64 bug (really flat windscreen and smaller rear windscreen
Quarter the roof and chop it equally lay down the rear window to keep its original size and you will have the least problems get another roof section to fill the holes.
and use a mig welder.

Well To Do a roof chop is alot simpler than it sounds but still a hell of a lot of work I have done 5 chops since my LEATHAL BEETLE in 1992 and you can use one roof all you need extra is 2 top sections of the doors for the door to front pillar gap wich are the most pain in the ass thing. there are various ways to chop the roof bringing it slanted to the front ore straight down . I`f built a chop with 1/4vent windows also choped and put back and it looked awsome and to cut the front curved w/shield not a problem and I even think my friends can cut the back one to.
If you go look under events in the forum at Angelas picknick you will see my choped cabrio that was a 1974 beetle once in its live. Feel free to contact me for advice.
