OG Empi Sprint Stars

Post by Muderick »

Hi Volks

I am selling my OG Empi Sprint Stars.

They are an original set of 4, with the needed "made in Western Germany" stamped on each wheel, all with serial codes, and in original paint.
They measure 5,5 x 15 inch in 205 pcd, so they are a straight fit on any Beetle, Ghia, Split bus, and early bay kombi. They do not fit into my plans anymore and I have decided to sell them. I can post more detailed pics if needed, but the 2 attached are the only ones I had on my work PC.

As you can see, it needs to be bead blasted and redone to your own spec, either powdercoated or chromed.

Sold with new Empi chrome centre caps.

R4500

Please PM me ASAP if you are interested.

I don't want the sprintstars, but I'll take the stock wheel with the funny hubcap, so long as you throw in the hubcap for free. :P

LOL! I always get asked about 'that' pressed hubcap... it came from an Aussie CKD car, either beetle or T3....

The stock wheels I think you refer to are 14 inch stock 205 pcd's, I think off an early bay or split?? I sold them a while back to zee German herr....

If you want it, I will chuck the hubcap in the post for you....

Ahem ... I'm talking about the funny hubcap on the upright standing wheel with tyre.

The "pressed" hubcap was quite common in the 70s; it was done by hand with the wheel spinning. No collector value there I'm afraid.

I'm sure you dont need those chrome porker wheels either - they look like they are cluttering up the place

Muds. The funny hubcap. Yes the one you were originally talking about.

I would like it. Honestly. Lady had a set but I managed to loose one, so they are now sitting in my garage.

I would like to complete the set again.

Let me know what you want for it.

Yvanes... Im not too sure what you want to do to the Sprint Stars... they look good bead blasted and them powder coated in the silver / black effect, but look even more wicked chromed. The Volksworld and Ultra VW mags have a few spilts and Ovals in them with chromed sprint stars fitted, and they look amazing... :D

Check the pics below of them...

I can enquire prices here in CT, although its usually cheaper in JHB... and then arrange transport with Chris...let me know then I can find out for you...

Dirk... If memory serves me... I did once tell you at Berg Motors that you could have it... so consider it yours for free.... unless you have some small trinket to trade?? :D
