Came across this picture. Must say, i'm not a watercooled guy at all, but this guy has an interesting idea. He taps all four corners of the heads for better waterflow. System is self-bleeding, as hot water and air-bubbles rises to the top. Nicely thought out.
I would change the fan from a suck-through to a blow-through, and let the used hot air exit over the transaxle.

Now that is one of the best ideas for a radiator I have ever seen. Spray the cowling black and most people will think it is a Type 1 engine if they open the engine lid.
The only substitute for cubic inches are more cubic inches.
