ACVWSA's birthday?

The Forum as we know it will turn 5 years old in 2010. I think it is only reasonable to think of the Forum's 'birthday' as September 13, 2005 - the day Eben 'joined'?

Anyway, I had a quick look - and the 13th of September falls on a Saturday this year. EDIT - I had a slow look again, and it is actually on a Monday Come hell or high water, I think we should do something that day, and celebrate it in true ACVWSA style!

The date is noted in the ACVWSA calendar - any ideas for what we should do?

Mince, how 'bout designing us a special ACVWSA 2005 - 2010 banner, perhaps something we can make a sticker of?

What amazes me, is that no less than 9 of the original first 10 members who joined ACVWSA, are still here - and fairly active, I might add

I joined back in the day when the 'first' forum was created. When the site 'got lost' I didnt sign up immediately with the new site..... So yes, I was there then, before the forum reincarnated......

Anyway, party on!

Well, I joined two years later, first came across the forum towards the end of 2006 when I was in Matric! If I had to discover the forum at the beginning of that year, I would have failed my matric I can't think of a single day that went by, where I didn't check out the forum, since then, it's my 2nd religion. Awesomeness.

The reason I didnt post so much in the 1st Edtition of the site, is because it was unknown and DEAD QUIET. Well, a post or two per week! That is why I didnt frequent often, and hence, didnt even realise that the site was 'lost' and '(re)found' !

Truth be told.... It just came to mind. I found this site shortly after I got my Fastback in France. And I have my Fastback for just over 5 years! I remember still asking IMPI a question about how I could get hold of one of his FGlass bellows for the air intake on T3s!!

I was first mentioned on this site on 12 Jan 2006 on request from Eben (I had met Eben in Melkbos in late 2005 (I think), I chased Groenie down in Rumours and chatted to him). Eben mentioned the forum, and I think he said it was brand new. I was ID'd in the thread by rattbug, aka Dave Jones. I joined 30 months later... Only 30 months...

But! I'm sure I registered once before Aug 2008, and I think it was in 2006, maybe 2007, but it was rather quiet in those days and I certainly wasn't on the internet a huge amount then. I was still working in Nigeria, where we had email, but not internet.

1) as most of the members dig pics, how about posting a single pic of u and ur aircooled or aircooled related ride with a birthday message to acvwsa on that day for helping us all on our rides.

2) as many members to log onto the chat at the twelve hour

3) organise a meet in different areas and make a video clip, ct , dbn, jhb, pe etc etc

we all joined at the same time simply because the original site closed down and we relocated. Eben will have more details. But yea, we have come a long way since....
