A couple of factors-(very )dependant, I am looking at buying goods in the UK [from one company] to the value of approximately ZAR 40,000 some time next year...

This would include some aluminium parts, and suspension replacement for a bus...so we're talking hefty weight.

What, roughly, can I expect to pay on shipping, and duties?

I do not Mind waiting for sea freight, or anything else that may reduce the price.

Nic......dont' you know anyone in the UK, I'm using my mum to ship me parts and if you cut out the profits that they're making you can save a bundle.....

Just to show you, a set of DC side gates cost me ?125-00 and I'm looking at about R1000-00 for shipping, handling and for my mum and her boyfriend to pack them in wooden crates...........dropped to the post office by my work.

Not anyone who'd be prepared to help me with something like this...experience, space, time, inclination, or the interest. :s

Unfortunately the kit I want would probably need a small truck to get it to the docks...it's bulky and heavy.

I'm looking at bringing in specialist suspension, and possibly aluminium popouts and Safaris although I have another idea in Mind...

If the project goes well, a custom g/box and Porsche engine from the states - but that's atleast 2 years off if everything goes right...

I was going to bring in safari's when I go to the UK next year, however I've come accross an old man who's a wizzard with ally and he's just finished a great ally profile that he reckons we can use for homemade safari's, brackets, hinges would have to be locally sourced, but it's do-able.

Price for them was R950-00 for innner and outer frame and hinge at the top..........bargain.

Not bad, but how do they compare to the real thing?

I was looking at them, but something I saw some time ago has given me ideas and stuck with me ever since...

Needless to say, no more info until I produce it in person one day. Hehe...

Well I've seen the frames that attach around the glass and they look goog. Just a bit thicker than the norm, but most people wouldn't notice the diffrence.........
