I want to have some badges/signs cut from 2.5 mm alu sheet. can anybody assist please. these badges must also be gold anodised afterwards

I would go for the waterjet cutting.

I have found that laser cutting causes a little defect in the cutting line where the cut begins. This is caused by the laser heating the material prior to cutting.

To the guys in the know, in your past experience,do these cutting shops have minimum order/material quantities, IE, will they cut say, 5 badges for me?

They will cut small quantity ,but they normally have a minimum charge
