Re: My 73 project
It looks very familiar... the odd cut out for the exhaust, half the vents closed on the engine lid... Wasn't all that in a different thread?

Re: My 73 project
Indeed - You are better off buying a set of Golf or other OG seats and mounting them properly.Tony Z wrote:hope you have life insurance.... I have heard too many stories of those cheapy seat breaking and taking someones back with it.

Re: My 73 project
hey tony, how much did the guy weigh
thats good to know, but i must say,the seats are quite solid.the cheapies are the non reclinable seats, they dont have steel structure,i bought a set couple of years ago, felt like it would just snap,

Re: My 73 project
hate to brake it to you... the reclinables are the cheapies. Look at the cost of fixed recaros vs the cost of reclinable recaros - reclinable is about 3 times the price.
I wouldnt touch those reclinables with a pole. My choice tho, the ones you have might be much better than the ones I have seen in the past.

Re: My 73 project
U dont understand, firstly,im not gonna pay R8000 for seats, for my beetle, then,, like u say autostyle sell's s@#t,but these are the better seats, the non reclinables they sell are crap.any reclinable or non reclinable brand name seat, like bride or recaro or what have u is obviously better....this is only a hobby, not gonna drive with it every day,,,,gheeeeze, hang me by my nut ,for putting autostyle seats in my beetle

Re: My 73 project
Personly i feel a beetle is not a safe car anyway as it crummbles like a cookie when in a serious prang,so sitting in a set of recaros at that moment is going to help you not one bit...its not a race car this so the seats should be just right...i like them they are going to look good with the look of this car...
