Elephant Foot Taillights Introduction

Post by Hloni »

Hi chaps,

Need info for a mate who ain't active on the forum: When were these lights introduced in ZA - the 'bigger' lense?

On another note, where do I locate the gearbox number on a box? I have to tell a guy to give me the number and bug is 5 hour drive away and my bug is an hour's drive away :?

Big round tail lenses introduced late 73, so all 74 & later beetles had them.
Tranny will more than likely need a good clean to spot the # it sits about 30cm forward of the starter motor, half way down, just above the frame horn, hope this helps.
