strated scratching around on my '67 australian bus ....it's amazing how good they can look from the outside :D ..but rotten on the inside  ...nevertheless...rather fix and know what you have than patch and be unsure every time you drive it !
Image

took a few pic's
removed the nose and valences....and about 5kg's of body filler on the front...rest of the bus is great except for the obvious sills and valences.....

so now we wait for the replacement front to come and some "A" pillars...etc...

The fact that you can buy new panels for these VWs never ceases to amaze me :!: I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on this. All the best Jacques, I like your work space. I wish I had a shed in my yard!

Hi Jacques,
the Lights I was thinking that may have been on your St Johns, would have been like this
Image
See the small round "black out lights" near the tail light. ?
I think this is what you had.

did some more stuff on the Ozzy bus today.....
took off the headlight bucket support panel..and started to prep and trial fit the new inner valance...
Image
Image
Image
Image
cut the left side A pillar...trimmed it up and crimped it slightly to fit inside the new one as a guide and to add strength...
Image
Image
Image
trial fit....
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
placed the bumper brackets to see if everything lines up ok .......
Image
Image
i do have one or two little snags here and there...like trimming the A pillar a touch too high...but i can fill that in so no prob. !
all looking good so far ! :hangloose:
i am getting a new headlight bucket support panel...just used the old one to check alignment..in case any one was wondering...
now i have to prep all the surfaces and paint the inside of the new panels before i fit them...once fitted i won't be able get in everywhere behind to paint and seal.....enjoying every minute of this ! :D
