Basically Running '72 breaking for spares - SOLD

Post by Dappermuis »

Hi

I am just waiting for one more potential buyer until tomorrow noon, then I am breaking my bus, and selling it as spares.

Please go to http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... =3&t=19888 to see more detail.

Send me a PM with offers, then we can negotiate.

I am very sad to let this bus go this route, but this is my last option.

Dappermuis,
Please let me know on your last offer, and I can see what I can put together. Hate to see the thing broken up. How urgently do you need to part with her?

Hi, 7 is the lowest I can go, as I have spent a lot on her as yet, she needs to go quite urgently, as I am not allowed to work on her in the complex that I stay in, and she's a bit in the way. _nfortunatly I cannot let her go for less, otherwise I have to just keep her in storage

I don't think you will get R7 000 for spares. I think scrap metal is +- R1.5 per/kg. That's about a R1 000 for the body. The rest is engine, gearbox and suspension. That is not worth R6 000 all together.

Don't strip the bus for spares! There will be a buyer eventually.

Have you placed an add in the Cape Ads?

Can it drive from Wellington to Klapmuts ? If so, you can bring it here to avoid having to break it up, and potential buyers can view it here rather than driving all the way to Wellington ......

Dappermuis,
Great idea from Paul. I am interested at R7K to save her depending on checking her out. I would get Paul's opinion and input anyway, and it can buy a little time to pull things together.
I was looking for a split screen and if one turns up I may be forced to part with her but you can have first dibs and maybe by then time could be better for her to go back home.

How far is it from roadworthy :?:

Paul :zhelp: hope you don't mind me seeking your input since I don't know anything about the Bus. I will give you a call soon.

Thanks man, Family will go through on Sunday afternoon to check it out, and then I will try and organize a trailer for the following weekend or maybe during the week. Dappermuis is going to put together the bent arms to keep the front wheels pointing in the same direction so it can be pulled onto the trailer. Will keep you posted.
