ACVW Traffic Violations

Post by boxerulez »

I will start off.

18/8/2011 Illegal turn :( R100-00 @ Market Square, East London

See, a just for fun record of what nonsense we caught on, where and when. (You only confess if you have already been caught & fined)

BTW, these chops sit in front of KFC and wait for anyone making the Illegal turn that we all make there. :jerkoff:

But even so, all is good, I am in the wrong and I will admit it.

I was caught going 90km/h in a 60 zone as you enter Stellenbosch in my old bug.
I went to UK shortly after that. Then they came to deliver the summons and my dad didn't sign it saying I am not in the country. Never heard of it again.
that is about it me thinks

I'm usually quite scrupulous about not breaking the law on the roads, especially speeding (easy when you drive a split bus!). But for some reason I've collected three speeding fines in the past few months (75km/h in a 60 zone, 54km/h in a 40 zone and 72km/h in a 60 zone). As a matter of policy I ignore all camera fines. I've never been summonsed on any of them. I figure they issue so many of these that there's not enough court time available between now and eternity to prosecute them all, so they rely on law abiding people to pay up and just ignore the rest. I don't think I've ever been fined for a moving violation in an ACVW. I did get R500 for reckless driving for pulling out in front of a speeding cop, but that was in my Mercedes.

My '61 DC was apparently caught on camera doing 80Km/h in Kimberly in May this year. Quite incredible for a vehicle which has not had an engine in it for the past 20 years + (or wheels, axles, drive train etc).

This is what it still looks like.

I'd also love to know how it got there as I've never been to Kimberly in my life. Needless to say the contact number on the fine is permanently engaged or if by some miracle it rings, it doesn't get answered.

Anyway I hope that one day when I have time to restore it it will be able to do 80Km/h.

PS love that white knuckle driving there Eben

I have been cited for speeding in the Notch as recently as 4 months ago... WTF Es? :?

Toyota HiAce on the photo... No second guesses as to what's on the door... It's quite amazing as I have never had the number plates made yet.

Mmmm there is not enough space to list all the moving violations in The DarkSide.... :)
Speeding fines aplenty the fastest one being 165km/h in a 120 zone.
Been pulled over more than 50 times for inspections and I always got a fine.
TonyZ and I were pulled over in George at the motor show one evening for drag racing hehhehe.... Groote Kak in Klein George!!!
Got pulled over on the N7 on fine Friday morning in January which caused my arrest and the death of The DarkSide!!!

I just got one last month. It was to pick up that bloody alternator for the fleetline. This alternator has really now got on my nerves!
But also what Fig said, just dont pay it. I have got way to many, they have attemted on several occations to drop it off at the house but always come when I am at work and no one else will sign for it. After a while they seem to give up, fines that I could see on Payfine seem to be scrapped.

Do yourself a favour with this payfines and viewfines bullshiv
Read the disclaimer (and print it out and keep in your car).
It clearly states that they cannot guarantee information to be correct or accurate.
If they state their info is probably wrong, why should I take it as correct and pay a fine that I found on their website???

Original or nothing....

Pine, don't leave your Christmas shopping so late this year, then you'll have plenty of time to get to the Toys R Us.
Unless it was the grand opening specials you were chasing at 8 in the morning ?! :D
