Here are some pictures of my '74 beetle, it gets used every day to work and back and will now be used to drive our newborn baby around! :D

Thank you! I know it's probably not made for a beetle but it works and is a genuine VW one!

The dash was badly cut at the radio, so I fitted the padded dash to hide the damage!

Isnt a 74 model supposed to come out with a padded dash as standard??

My first bug was a 74 aswell . :drunks: :drunks:

I really don't know,I had to drill the holes for the dash myself.
Here are some more pics of what I have done.
Front Disc brakes.

Thicker front anti roll bar! This makes a HUGE Improvement!

I used a bigger master cylinder and got a much better pedal feel than the standard one!

I think only the 1600L came with the padded dash in that year...

Nice, I like the fat wheels at the back and the roof-rack :hangloose:

My Dad had a 74 1300 twinport it also had the padded dash, but its front indicators were located in the bumber, not on the wheel arch.
