1958 Find - Need to make an offer

Post by vectress »

Hi All,

I came across this 1958 and I need to make an offer for purchase. I have no idea what these go for so I would like for you guys with the knowledge to give me a price range.

Description:
- It's a right hand drive import from West Germany in is still a daily runner.
- The interior is in a very good condition with what seems to be the original cloth.
- There is no rust on the pan.
- Semaphores are still working condition
- No oil leaks
- Original 6volt

Dont take my offer as verbatim.

That is just an awesome find, worthy of a very good price.

R130 000. Realisticaly though,...maybe between 80 and 85k is what its worth, but put in an offer of about 30k. If the owner has no idea of whats its worth.,

Can I sell a few Beetles in your world, please? :)

Evaluate the actual work needed on the car + rough market price = negotiate

I've generally spent over 20k on every running car I've ever bought getting it in decent running shape.

I took it from the sellers perspective, that car could fetch a 130k price tag. And then from the buyers perspective. 85k is a realistic price.

Awesome!! So what you guys are saying is that if I am able to buy this for R40K then I will be able to sell it for almost R85K.

That's ridiculous!!

Its only worth what the buyer is willing to pay. You need to find a buyer who will buy it for that price - could take a few years....

That bug looks very nice!

Because the seller does not have a starting price, why don't you start at R20k. This way if he says yes, you smile allllll the way. If he says no, then at least you have a starting point.
Why start at R40k if the guy might settle for less..
It is also worth much more to a collector than someone wanting a beetle as a student car...

My 2cents...
