'my' '69 Fastback

Post by LVH »

I say 'my' in inverted commas cause it's actually my Dad's. He won't let me post too much info at this stage but I'm trying to bend his arm.

It's a heart warming story how this car came into his possession. My dad used to be the mechanic who worked on the previous owners cars since the day she bought it. The little old lady would not let anyone else work on her car. I even remember holidays going to visit her in the old age home when I was little as she became part of our family.

When she passed (bless her) Aunty Molly left the car t o my Dad. The car has been standing in his garage ever since. He says it needs a new silencer, that's why he doesn't drive it, but if you ask me I think he just can't get himself to drive the car as it is too sentimental to him.

Anyways, this is the only picture I can post at this stage. Hopefully more to follow soon.... (don't worry, apart from the dust the car is protected by all the stuff stored around it

Believe me, I've tried. The old man won't even let me wash it with a hose, says the waters going to collect in crevices and create rust.

The only way it gets to Harties though is on a flatbed but maybe next year? :(

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.
