Sorry Arno and Tony, but she tows so well and I just love how she drives,

so once again, she was seconded to A-frame the Bay home from paint.

Now it must be said, the Bay has a dislike to being a-framed, as she decides she will not follow around corners,

but will only do straights if asked nicely. ..

But here we are, yet another job well done by this here Fleetline.

Just getting it into shape after all these years.

So the fleetline was taken out of hard labour, for two weekends in a row.

Last weekend she stood proudly entertaining the crowds during the annual Kieth s Picnic at Jefferys Bay,

Was nice to see Chris and his wife there as well as Tony E

And this week she joyed the hart of an young couple, driving them to their memorable Metric Dance.

Just seeing the joy in their faces made the trip worth while.

love this addiction...

As the Fleetline has been busy having brought the Bay Back from the "tailors" and noting a few issues needing doing.

and having time on my hands from the MeFusco project,

I got me a new speedo cable, and fitted it to the Fleetline.

Also sorted the loose connection out on the right rear indicator.

So now off to the Bay and doing some work on her.

Managed to find a supplier for the Late Bay front calipers, so I bought a set as the late Bay beam I fitted to the Fleetline had a early bay set fitted by the PO.

As they had to be modified to fit, this resulted in uneven wear on the pads and noise.

The new ones fitted perfect and what a joy to know now you have a decent set of brakes.

I got happy when I saw the price of R2k, until I saw it's per side!

yes its a bit pricey, but I managed by selling the empty bottles I "found" under my next-door neighbour bedroom window.

as well as skillful handling of a butter knife and the kids piggy banks, not to mention the cardboard sign at the robot also helped.

But now I can STOP

So just to keep this thread up to date.

Did a show run from Jefferys Bay to Graff Renett this past week end, ran in a convoy of 3 cars, at an average of 90Kmh topping off at places at 110 kmh.

She ran with grace, and never missed a beat. With the motor having done approx. 10000km since new, she is maintaining a excellent oil temperature.

Maxing out at 110 Deg C after a long steep hill at a constant 100kmh. Normal running at 3500rpm at 80deg C.

She has done the 300km on 35 liters of fuel, which I am more then happy about.

Must say that the mods made to this here bus has made her very very driveable, as shown by the Cape Town trip towing a trailer, The George Trip 4 up towing the 52 Beetle, and now the Graff Renett trip, this time running solo.

Here some photo's already shared but needed for this thread.

Till next update.
