Re: Classified classic
Presently I believe that vehicles of all ages need roadworthy. I'm not sure if the proposed legislation has specified the age of a classic yet, anybody?

Re: Classified classic
Was reading an article on IOL this morning.
And it says that "IF" this new traffic laws are implicated, all cars need to be roadworthied every two years.
however there is an exception for the "classis cars", which would not have to undergo the roadworthy process.
I have heard about this before that if your car falls under that category you are not liable to have the car roadworthied, (for instance if you were to do a change of ownership)

Re: Classified classic
last i heard (in a thread on this here forum iirc) is 1965... but i'm not sure if that changes as the years roll on. surely something like a mk1 GTi will fall into the Classics category at some stage so they have to change it eventually

Re: Classified classic
If my memory serves me right, a classic is a car that is older then 35 years.
If registered as a classic, you may not use it for every day driving.
You need not pay licence fee.
YOU MUST roadworthy the car as per all other road cars, no exceptions. ( will be tested to original spec. of car as per date of manufacture )
Must have police clearance on registration, same as all other car users.
Will only be considered as classic car on Original Vin plate and detail, and not on "Homebuilt" or Police numbers.
May ask for "birth certificate" from manufacturer should they want it prior to registration.
