That car has been for sale for some time now... whether it's a good swop of not, best would be to go have a look at it first.

If you have any doubts then I'd say don't.

Do you like 1303s? Is a 1303 on your wish list?

Because 1303s are quite rare in SA, some people believe they are desireable. Personally, I don't like them at all and would never buy one. I'd far rather drive a 60s or 50s Beetle. But if you like them, then go for it. :hangloose:

I believe that that car is a 1303S. I has different gearbox and suspension and is a rare model. Spares might be scarce.

1303s are not rare at all, just rare in SA, so, yes, parts will be hard to find (eg, front Mcpherson struts).

I hear you and I agree that I'd rather have an older beetle and I would prefer one '66 & older, but the 1303 for some reason is talking to me, I can see it in white or silver with a black interior and lowered with a set of gasburners on..

I lost interest in it.. I was never actually that into Spyders but this one was offered to me by a friend and was in a sad state, so I took it on as a challenge..

For me personally they are awsome in terms of handlig with a few mods see my long term project benzin for some inspiration
as with all late beetles rust is an issue but mostly fixable Porsche 944 bits practically bolt on :D
The factory rallied them search for zaltsburg beetles

I checked out BENZIN, good luck with the project, It's cool that Porsche bits fit on the car and the passat rack..

I went and checked the 1303, it looks to be in no worse condition than my spyder, there is some rust but as Armand said - fixable..

Hi
your 1303 was at yesterdays cars in the park meeting...
it is a rare car,no doubt.... but if I had the option to swop my spyder for it, I wouldn't.....
and not to mention your car is soo much better looking than mine!
My 2 cents worth
