1958 VW Microbus FarmFind
So while everybody chilled at home the past looooong weekend of 9,10,11 and 12 August, mowed the lawn, trimmed the hedges, painted the lounge etc etc....I decided to chase my dream.
Dononvan, my Zani and I left on Thursday to travel up North to go and save my first bus.....

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Awesome
The feeling is indescribable when these beauties are found.
Good luck with the bus.
I'm definitely liking this idea.

Re: 1958 VW Microbus FarmFind
Thanks Paul! I'll mail you with my inventory of parts, I need a couple of parts- obvious missing items are the gearbox, engine, seats, steering column and steeringwheel. Dononvan recommended Bugger for the adjustable spring plates as I will fit a Bug 'box. Motor will be 1600 TP, need to source a set of seats, steering column and steeringwheel. Might go discs all round, and the I need to chat to Jacques to get some Gerson sections and the simple panels and easy junctions will probably be sheet metal fabrication....this is a long term project, but looking SUPER foward to it!!!

Re: 1958 VW Microbus FarmFind
Brilliant find ! looks like around a 55 to 57 bus with the pressed bumpers and all !
great effort made there !
someone called me last week and said that a guy called "jean" from Cape Town found a '52 barndoor near the Botswana border.....this of course got the phone lines going for a while !!
not a barndoor but still a fantastic find with safari's and all !
i would def. leave the voortrekker wheels on the rear..looks great !
i may have a complete steering assembly for you, steering box and shaft(no wheel) .....and of course we have this....
so once you ready...let me know what you need.
