Kinda makes sense, if it's used on carbs ...

In the OLD days we called it a RAM TUBE, and all Hot Rods guys fitted the same thing to there carb's,

Before they realised that you do need a Air Cleaner to save the engine.......

It works on the theory that the intake is bigger, then the larger amount of air is compresses more, before entering the chamber.

So the volume of air is increased.
