Do you remember this one?

Post by Pine »

Appreciate please - I spent all evening screen grabbin' and pastin' and collagin', and trying to figure the words out. And after all these years, I still think the Volksie Bus Mommy is a BABE, but not Auntie Sarah...

Now..... sing with me 1...2...3:

Ag pleeze Daddy
won't you take us for a Bus ride?

it's such a long time
since we went away!

Ma says you're a superstar
to buy a Bus and not a car

'cause just as soon as we get in
we're on a holiday!

Ag Daddy look at us
the Volksiebus is fabulous

you and me and Flip and we
and Mom and me and Spot!

We can fit in auntie Sarah
and her cousin from Napier

isn't it amazing
we can fit such a lot?

And Mom, this is fun
off the road and in the sun

fishing here, braaing there
eating and then

Daddy you're a genius
for buying us a VolksieBus

when next weekend comes along
we'll do it all again!

In the remake, it would probably be a Black TOUREG, :-) with tinted windows, with an out of touch dad, yummy mummy, orange from all the selftan/spray tan, with at least 2.5 spoilt teenagers, one on an IPOD, the other watching a high school musical DVD on the headrest with cordless bluetooth headphones. All of them on their way to a) A R2500 per person per night sharing private game lodge, or b) on their way to the airport and their BEE partner/fathers personal Jet to fly to mauritius for the long weekend. All jetfuel compliments of the SA taxpayer. Come on, who's got the guts to make this add?!!!

Pine, I was thinkig the same thing as Merlin, where do you get all these classic ads. Keep em comin!

Not quite, the first one was the ad above, with the family and a 2liter air cooled Microbus

Then came David Kramer with the 1.9 water cooled Microbus, hitching a lift and losing the bike

David Kramer hooking his braces to the 2.1 Microbus on his way to Sannie van der Spuy

Then his bike got stolen, but luckily the station master had a 2.1 Syncro

Fire on the Tierkloof Pas, 2.5 5-cylinder Bus saving the day

....and sadly, all good things come to an end
