Hey Guys.
I am putting a pair of carburetors on my beetle and I want to know, will adding a Porsche fan shroud to a standard Beetle have any advantages, like better cooling? Because I think it looks rather cool, and adds a lot of room opposed to the standard air shroud. So tell me what you think?

Re: Porsche Fan Shroud
If you have a lot of money to burn why not...... but if you don't have a fan with the right deflectors then you going to fry No 3 & 4 cylinders while 1 & 2 run supper cool. If you just looking at having more space then get a aftermarket 36Hp style fanhousing that can take the dog house cooler and is 100% bolt on.
With the porsche fan you need a elec fuel pump, remote oil cooler, and the right pedistal with oil filler/breather as well as a custom fanhousing all ads up $$$$$.
If you going just for the look, save your money.

Re: Porsche Fan Shroud
yup, as Cal said..
your looking at an instant money pit.
LOTS or relocation and uncertainty..
Looks the business, but not a good deal..
I went on to using a 36hp shroud from the old one and its helped with space. plus its a tighter shroud so gets the air through the head fins proper on both heads.

Re: Porsche Fan Shroud
Thank you for the advice. I found out what they cost this week and decided that the dog house is a much better value for money.
