engine troubles

Hi,

I recently bought myself a beetle as a project, I literally bought it in pieces, and iv reassembled most of it, but iv reached an impass. Where the fuel pump and distributer connect to the motor, I seem to have an issue, the pin under the fuel pump doesn't move, and the distributer doesn't turn. Can anyone help? What is my best bet, and where in centurion is a good place to take my car to for service or fixing?
