Willard in Bloefontein had a few brand new 6V batteries in stock about 2 years ago.
If you wanted one, you had to phone 'em and 'order' it, as they were stored dry and with no charge. Willard would then put the correct acid in, trickle charge it, and you can get it 24hours later.
(The owner told me at the time that he always used to sell quite a number of 6V batteries towards the end of the year for all the vintage cars used for matric farewells!
