Hey all,
I'm getting a quote on my new rims, but need to know what size I need...
The company offers 4.5, 5, and 5.5 sizes.
I currently run 195s front and back, and want to keep this size.
Which do I need?
Thanks, N.

You will need the widest rim that could fit inside the wheel arches a 195 tyre means the thread is 195mm wide thus 195 divided by 2.4 = approx 8 inches. which would be the largest rim to fit those tyres but factory cars with those tures usually run at 6.5 inches wide. I would like those 5.5s the best for the rear but clearance issues would dictate the fronts. Wheel ofset also rears its ugly head and would need to be factored into the equation as well.

Who cares how it's done in California?

Daaamn!
I'm currently running 195s on my EMPI 8s with ease.
I'm dropped one spline out back, and lower in the front, with Avis adjusters.
The beam is NOT narrowed, and I fit in the fenders in front. The back is annoyingly outside of the fenders.
I like the look of the 195s and would prefer to keep them if possible, but do not want the wheels (currently back) out of the fenders.
Slightly off-topic, but my Mother's '66 has the fronts sticking out...widened 356s. HtF does that work?
I'm not keen to narrow my rear track...so an alternate solution has to be found...speak up people.
...so how do I get the rear wheels tucked in, and the rims would obviously need to be widened?
If it helps, the rims are 15" Randars.
Thanks, N.

Damn...I'm going to have to get 'em widened.
I'll send Randee a mail and see what he can do...
What a pity...he needs to offer 16"s in a wider pattern imo.
The Escras are similiar, but I *just* prefer the Randars, and at 950 Euros for 4 Escras (17"), they're crazy-expensive.

There's a long and bitter thread somewhere on thesamba.com forums about how Randee takes money off foreigners but they never see their wheels. You might want to do a bit of homework there before committing cash.

Hmmm...
Thanks for the heads-up.
I can get my mate there to help from that side...but I'll have a look...
I've also put the word out that I may be able to do a rim swop, but I haven't chosen anyone as yet.
Thanks, N.
