I then painted the manifolds
And assebled the whole lot
The nuts holding the injectors are just temporary, will get proper nuts later

On the fuel tank side of things...
I more or less mocked up what I want to do on the old vrot tank.
Fuel return on left and outlet to pump on right
My idea is that the un used fuel returning from the fuel rail sprays into the feed for the fuel pump minimises the chance of fuel starvation.
And the sort of surge tank inside the tank.
This is all just mockup, everything will be cleaned etc on the good tank

This is what a FI bus tank looks like inside, and what I'm more or less aiming for

Next up is to send the rotating assembly for balancing. And get the cam and lifters to vd linde.I spoke to hannes about the cam as I wanted a web cam w73 profile but he said they dont have that profile but I gave him the advertised specs and he said he can work from that..so must send that aswell

Very nice progress so far. Best part is when everything is going to come together soon.

Progress...slowly but surely
Got pistons back from having circlip grooves cut and then had them milled to clear the crank
Compared to a stock vw piston.and behind that is the correct rings that I had to get
.
I also made a braket to hold the airbox.
I also swaped the batery holder from right to left...straight fit.Still have to weld it into place.
