Carburettors
Greetings all
From what other cars can carbs be adapted to fit a T1/T4 engine besides the Weber IDFs and Dell'Ortos? Is there something that is readily available in a junkyard that could fit?

Anything can be made to work as long as you have the correct inlet manifold, I have experimented or used the following, and in some cases still have my experiments. For some I made my own manifolds.
Single Weber 36 DCD (Chevy 2.5L had them and several other Fords)
Single 1 3/4" Stromberg SU (Mini's, Volvo)
Twin Solex 32 (Type 3 VW)
Twin Solex 34 (Type 4 VW)
Twin Solex Kadron 32 (Type 1 VW SP)
Twin Kadrons 40 (Custom, not available local)
Single Weber 34 ICT (some Alfas and Fords)
Single Weber 38 DGAS (Ford V6)
Twin 36 DRLA Delotros (Alfa 33, Sud, Sprint, Veloce)
Twin 45 DRLA Delotros (Alfa Sud Rally)
Twin Weber 42 DCNF's (complete Gene Berg setup, Ford V6 Interceptor had 3)
Twin 40 Weber IDF's (Fiat 2L Racing)
Single Weber 32/36 (Ford 2L)
Twin Zenith 32 (Valiant)
Single Solex 40 P11 (Porsche 356)
Single 36 DRLA Delotro (Alfa 33, Sud, Sprint, Veloce)
Single Brosl Solex 30/31 (replacement for Aircooled vw, seen one on a Golf)
The above carbs I have ran on a engine stand but some never made it on the road for many reasons, but got them all to run. I find the 36 DRLA Dellortos the best to work with, the twin Solex as used in our aircooled rides are also a favorite.

No problem.
I'll be sliding in front of you in the corners...
Anyone can go fast in a straight line...the corners are where the win is.
