Hi There Aircoolers!
We are doing a product launch towards the end of November and early December. Product in Question is the new VW T6 range.
Knowing this is the biggest aircooled forum in SA I figured it should be the right place for this request. We are looking for a range of buses to have on display as part to showcase the brands heritage and are looking for the following, if possible through, your vast network of contacts.
VW T1 to T5 variants. Preferably modified, restored and even the "different from the norm" ones might be considered.
The event takes place in Gauteng, KZN as well as Cape Town so the opportunity nationally is quite good.
We are looking for 2-3 cars per variant and the client will decide which ones they want.
Its one day event held on a Saturday and they have indicated its a VIP event and will extend the invite over to the owners of the chosen vehicles. Nice opportunity to rub shoulders with someone famous.
Please email me with Pictures of your vehicle and a brief story of and your car.
chaz.autoevents@gmail.com or contact on zero eight two 560 811 nine.
Deadline is 30 October 2015 for submissions.
Looking forward to this!

The trade-off or "payment" is to be one of the exclusive people to actually attend the event along with a host of VIP's on the day.
Can this work? What is the norm for such type of requests if I may ask as its our first venture of this kind.

Howzit D,
Saw yours at the festival Saturday. You must be getting some decent money renting him out.
I also saw some of the "advertised" splitties on trailers there, asking prices of 150 K.. I was at a loss for words to describe those two busses, seriously..
As for these photoshoots, Jaa I'm sure VW have a very solid budget for this launch. No reason why they shouldn't be paying for props. My speedster was getting 3 grand a day for photoshoots through two agencies. And I heard the available budget for models etc was in the Hundreds.
But to answer your question, no thanks. as soon as I get Winston back, we're gonna enjoy Summer at the beaches.

Yes, it can work. And maybe it will. Rubbing shoulders with "celebrities" may be good currency for some ...
But it won't attract my buses out of the garage. I'm especially not inclined to support VW launches. They refuse to support us in any way to keep their history on the road, but are quick to call on us when they need to generate nostalgic warm and fuzzies to tout their new models. And seldom do they want to pay us, despite their mega launch budgets.
I was hiring my buses out for events, photo shoots, etc, for R4,000 per day and it wasn't worth the effort, inconvenience or the damages. I still love to share my collection and I show my buses (for free) whenever I can, but I no longer make them available for commercial events because production companies always messed me around and don't respect historic vehicles.
