Squashed pipes coming from the carb manifold

Post by shaunnadan »

Hi everyone

So I just noticed that there are 2 pipes from the carb manifold on either side to the head and one of them is squashed on each side .

Any reason why these are squashed and should I replace them. Do I have the wrong manifold for my engine ?

those were heater pipes to heat the manifold (helps reduce flat spots at low load). Chances are someone tried to remove them and snapped them off and instead of cleaning them up properly and hiding the fact, they just didnt care.
Your car is OK without them. Its unlikely that you will get them out without some serious 4 letter words and a drill press or milling machine...
